Adworks
Adworks is a passionate organization that has built a community of creative, like-minded students to construct endless opportunities through real-life advertising experiences. Each semester we complete different projects by partnering with local agencies to develop multi-media marketing campaigns, strategy, and design elements. Our members create marketing deliverables – from logos to top-to-bottom branding and strategy – while we as members make friends, develop connections, and get hands-on professional experience.
Account Manager
As the Account Manager, I act as the team lead and face of the project team. The Account Manager must have strong communication and leadership skills, be organized and have positive energy. My prior leadership experience and participation in Adworks is vital for this role.
Duties:
Liaison between your team and the agency partner
Managing, reviewing progress, and helping deliver projects
Conducting meetings with the clients as well as informing them about the current work status of their projects
Creates Slide Decks with their Account Executive and agendas for each meeting
Leading project team meetings and monitoring performance
Training new Account Executives
Sending weekly updates to adworks President, VP, and Creative Director
Creates a timeline for the agency at the beginning of the semester and takes the lead on direction
Skills: Communication, Advertising knowledge, Mentorship, Leadership, Google Calendar and Suite (sending calendar invites to the team and agency partners)
Strategist
As the strategist, I find key insights and develop functional strategies that reach business goals for the client. The strategic recommendations must tie to the research findings, in order to formulate a "big idea."
Duties:
Researching and gathering data to develop well-informed strategic plans for clients
Examining clients’ businesses to get to know their brands and understand their objectives
Producing cohesive and intelligent plans to bring success to campaigns
Create personas based on qualitative and quantitative research
Secondary research with sources included
Primary research with the decision to conduct surveys through Qualtrics and/or Interviews
Working with team and agency partner to receive feedback and create improvements to strategies
Testing strategies and advertising creative with surveys
Skills: Qualtrics (or other tool to create surveys), pulling insights, attention to detail, research
Art Director
As the Art Director I create the creative deliverables for the project campaign. Using strategic insight and developing a tone, I create the marketing assets with a variety of ideas. It's also important to develop a consistent look and feel for the campaign.
Duties:
Determining how best to represent a concept visually and which design elements to use
Developing the overall look, style, and tone of advertising campaign based on the big idea and strategic insights
Talking to clients and work with team to develop an artistic approach
Collaborate with the other Art Director to ensure the campaign has a consistent look and feel (ex: same brand colors, typography, tone, etc.)
Creating a mood board with the overarching look and tone
Develop advertising creative assets (posters, videos, social media posts, guerilla marketing tactics, Out-of-Home billboard, etc.)
